Presented by The Movement and Dance Committee of the IOSFS Board
SESSION SEGMENT #1: Starting with Improvisation!
Saturday, 12 and 26 April, 10 May 2025, from 3:00 to 4:15 pm CEST (online)
The Movement and Dance Committee of the IOSFS Board will be offering short online sessions over the coming year (2025) that provide an opportunity for Orff-Schulwerk practitioners to engage with a mindful movement and dance practice within an elemental music and movement/dance context.
We will facilitate a process of expanding the range of movement possibilities and expression in both mind and body, guiding participants towards a strong sense of physical presence, confidence, and authenticity. Movement elements of space, time, weight, and flow will be explored individually, in partners, and in small group work.
Our aim is that each person will be encouraged to become more active in incorporating the different forms of movement and dance (improvisation, folk/cultural and historical) as well as compositional/choreographic tasks into their own classes.
Each session segment or ‘mini-course’ consists of three-to-four meetings, and it is recommended that you attend each of them.
To attend, please register under this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfxPudZ2wc5kJUhTUvASmlD7-AmKYmXCRZaMUxYuVJ-6bkUgQ/viewform?usp=header_.

SESSION SEGMENT #1: Starting with Improvisation!
We will start with simple examples that require no previous dance experience, covering the range from serious to spirited, from sensory experiences to structured explorations and improvisations. Themes will be based on movement concepts and kinesthetic impulses, musical, rhythmic, texts or visual inspirations. The moment itself is emphasized, for there we create our own choices and take our own chances!
