Christoph Maubach 

Free-lance Music and Movement teacher and workshop facilitator.

Since 2011 advisor on the board of the International Orff-Schulwerk Forum Salzburg

 

Christoph originates from the Rhineland in Germany and after his studies at the Orff Institute moved to Melbourne in 1980 where he also conducted the A Capella groups Living Song and Melbourne Brazilian Choir Borboleta.

 

He was a lecturer at ACU University in Melbourne for twenty eight years and Senior Lecturer in Music Education at Waikato University in New Zealand for ten years.

 

For forty years he has conducted professional development activities in New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, China, the US and many other countries, and taught at the Orff Institute in 1991/1992. Christoph is editor of ‘Sounding Orff’, the newsletter of Orff New Zealand Aotearoa (ONZA).

 

He was co-creator of the Shenanigans resources, published the audio CD and booklet Step Back Sally, the Djembe drum teaching resource Orff Beats (Book, DVD, Audio CD) and the Audio CD Songs from Georgia, an A Capella resource with vocal music from the Republic of Georgia (Caucasus).

 

In New Zealand he conducted the Mangonui SingRays in the Far North, the Young Voices at the Waikato Music School and the World Voices choir at Waikato University. Christoph was a Trust Board member of the Hamilton Community Centre for Music and Sistema Waikato and secretary of Music Education Waikato, the Waikato chapter of Music Education New Zealand Aotearoa.

He is a committee member of ONZA (Orff New Zealand Aotearoa) and was formerly a Board member of ANCOS (Australia) and a committee member of VOSA (Melbourne).
